Advanced training Institute for Electronics & Process Instrumentation, Dehradun has been set up by the Govt. of India to cater the needs of steady flow of quality and quantity trained Instructor for the country in the field of Vocational Electronic Mechanic, IT&ESM, COPA and Electrician to cater the needs of the skilled training of Industries, Govt. ITIs/ Pvt. ITIs, PSUs and Business houses. This Institute also provides Short Term Training in the field of PLC, Medical Electronics, IT and Central of Excellence (IT) area. Training helps the entrant by inculcating occupational skill and knowledge making him familiar with the objectives of industries/ institutions to which he belongs and his potential contribution in the forthcoming departmental goal. Training has two aims, stimulate the employee to make his best effort and help him to improve performance. Training is an investment for further enhancement of any organisation. This Institute is also offering tailor made course as per the requirement of Industries on their demands with mutual agreement. ATI-EPI is having A/C class rooms, latest audio visual aids equipments, experienced faculties and sharing of guest faculties to train in some area as and when required. It is well-placed in eco-friendly environment under the lap of Himalaya.

Craft Instructor Training Systems

Semester Pattern of Craft Instructor courses(CITS) have been introduced with effect from Session Aug 2014 to cater to the increasing demand of Skilled Instructor in various Govt. ITIs/ Pvt. ITIs in the trades of Electronic Mechanic, Electrician & Wireman, Computer Hardware Networking Maintenance(old name IT & ESM), and Computer Software Application(old name COPA). Each trade comprises of two semesters of 6months duration each, e.g.  in I^st Semester Trade Theory (TT-I), and Engineering Technology(ET),in Semster II -Trade Theory (TT-2), and Training Methodology(TM). After completion of 2 (two) semesters participants will be competent enough in their trade and eligible for employment as trained instructors in the Govt. ITIs & Pvt. ITIs

Short Term Courses

Short term courses are organized in the area of Electrical & Electronics(Basic,Advance),PLC, and Medical Electronics as per the institute’s training calendar. These courses are eligible for deputed candidates of Govt./Public and Private Sectors and for unemployed skilled youth. Candidates from pursuing B Tech/Diploma may also apply for these courses.

The qualification can be relaxed for those people who are working /studying in the same field.

Tailor Made Courses

For optimum utilisation of facilities this Institute is also conducting Tailor made courses on demand from Government or Private Organisation with mutual agreement. A batch of minimum 12 participants is required to nominate for Tailor made programme. The curricula and schedule of such courses are decided on mutual consultation. ONGC, TATA Motors, Naval Dock Yard, INS Sivaji, BRBNML & different State Directorate are some beneficiaries of these courses.

Tradewise Eligibility: Electronics Mech. Possessing National Trade Certificate /National Apprenticeship Certificate in relevant Trade OR Diploma /Degree in relevant branch of Engineering. Computer Hardware and Networking Maintenance (earlier name IT &ESM) Degree in Engineering in Computer Science /IT/Electronics /NIELIT “B” OR Three years Diploma in Computer Science /IT/Electronics OR National Trade Certificate /National Apprenticeship Certificate in Information Technology/ Information and Communication Technology Maintenance/Computer Hardware and Networking Maintenance. Electrician & Wireman(earlier name Electrician) National Trade Certificate /National Apprenticeship Certificate in Electrician/Wireman OR Diploma /Degree in Electrical /Electrical &Electronics Engineering. Computer Software Applications(earlier name COPA) National Trade Certificate /National Apprenticeship Certificate in Computer Operator Programming Assistant(COPA)/DBSA OR Degree in  Engineering in Computer Science /Information Technology OR MCA/MSc(Computer Science /Computer/Information Technology)/ NIELIT “B” OR equivalent OR Diploma in Engineering in Computer Science / Information Technology OR BCA/BSc (Computer Science / Information Technology) or equivalent
As per directive only the Govt. ITI Instructors having three years of experience and having Diploma/Degree in relevant branch  may be allowed Exemption only to appear directly in Ist  Semester Examination but have to get  their registration before  1st Semester admission

(B) Short Term Courses

Eligibility for courses students, who is pursuing Engineering Degree/Diploma and M Sc(Electronics/Computers) & ITI(NCVT) in relevant trade.--- SEATS:20

Facilities Workshops: The Institute has following well equipped workshops: Electronics Workshops Electrician Workshops Information Technology  Lab Computer Hardware Networking Maintenance Lab(CHNM) Computer Software Application Lab(CSA) PLC Lab Medical Electronics Lab which includes  Repair & Maintainance of  Cardiology Lab Equipment Repair & Maintainance of  Clinical Lab Equipment Repair & Maintainance of  Imaging Lab equipment Repair & Maintainance of  Physiotherapy & EEG Lab equipment. Hub Studio for Distance Learning Program Staff: Qualified B. Tech / M. Tech officers selected through UPSC and other highly professional staff capable of providing practical training especially in repair & maintenance of Electronics Instruments / Equipments. Guest faculties who are expert in the field are also associated in training programmes. Library: This institute has  library facility with  sufficient  technical books relevant to the courses being conducted in the institutefor short term and long term courses.
